Growing increasingly tired of his everyday life in the pacified Sung dynasty under his master Bao Zheng (Anthony Wong), Zhan Zhao (Andy Lau) runs into Bai Yu Tang (Cecilia Cheung), a woman disguised as a man. Zhan discovers that Bai helps the needy, along with the help of a group called The Fice Mice. Zhan admires what Bais gifted martial skills and upright honesty and the two soon become friends. After Zhan is honored with a title for unveiling a conspiracy, Bai challenges him to a duel to find out whose martial arts talents are better. The winner takes home the precious sword, a wedding gift to Zhan. Ordered to bring 'The Five Mice' to justice, he can finally convince Bai to follow him. After Bai reveals that she is a woman, Zhan is full of happily surprised, but he has promised to marry somebody else ...
